Old video of late KODA narrating how he was given wrong medication for 8 months resurfaces
Celebrated Ghanaian gospel musician, KODA sadly passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024.
The cause of his death is yet to be disclosed. However, reports have it that KODA died as a result of a sickness he has been battling with for sometime now.
The multi-talented musician had once publicly disclosed about his health status and narrated how an unknown hospital in Takoradi gave him wrong medication.
The video circulating on Facebook show KODA recounting the incident which had happened in 2016 thereabout stressing that upon his research he found out he was battling G6PD.
Feeling uneasy and showing funny symptoms each time he took the medication, KODA decided to google about the drug being administered to him.
He said to his surprise, he realised he had been taking in a sulphur-based medication for close to eight months as a G6PD patient which is harmful to his health.
KODA said he then drew the attention of the doctors in his next review who only apologised for their actions.
“By morning I saw a doctor, they prescribed something for me and I was immediately grounded like two days before releasing and then gave me medication and asked me to take it and then keep reporting myself from time to time.
“I started developing some funny symptoms here and there overtime and I noticed something was not right so I remember one day being bold enough to google the medication I was given to find out exactly what it was.
“I noticed that one major element I was given to take was a sulphur-based medication and immediately I told myself that but I know that I have a medical condition called G6PD.
“I know for sure that Sulphur is one of the things that we are not supposed to take. Things like Brufen I know since I was in Tech I cannot touch. And so I was like why the people, they want kill me anaa. I had taken the thing for over six months getting to eight months of ingesting this thing on a daily basis.
“So we scheduled some form of review with the doctor and I told the doctor that why I’m I being given a medication that contains sulphur since I am G6PD. All they said was, sorry ooo,” KODA recounted.
According to KODA, the incident prompted him to be more curious about his medication henceforth.
