Ja Rule arrives in Ghana, visits Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park

American rapper and producer Ja Rule has arrived in Ghana after announcing his plans to visit the country last week on X.

The rapper, along with his wife and team, arrived in Ghana on Tuesday, April 9, 2024, to start the construction of a classroom block at Nuaso Anglican Primary School which is being done in partnership with Pencils of Promise.

Pencils of Promise is a renowned US non-profit organization known for its efforts in constructing schools and enhancing educational opportunities worldwide.

Earlier this week, the rapper revealed plans to visit the West African country in a tweet on X.

Despite the main purpose of his visit being to break ground for constructing a classroom block, Ja Rule took time to visit the the historic Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park & Mausoleum in Accra.

 Together with his team, the rapper learned about the impact of Ghana’s first President, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and about the country’s history.

Located in Accra, the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and Mausoleum is the final resting place of Ghana’s first President and Africanist.

The park has a museum that hosts rare artefacts relating to Ghana’s independence, and tours at the park provide visitors with an in-depth history of the Sub-Saharan struggle for independence.

The ground breaking ceremony for the construction of the school project will happen today, Wednesday April 10 at Nuaso in the Eastern Region.

The ceremony will have in attendance the Vice-President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and the Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Acheampong.
