( Video ) Africans Should Be Proud Of Their Roots And Culture – Fuse ODG

Ghanaian-English Hip Hop / Afro Pop recording artiste , Nana Richard Abiona who is popularly know as Fuse ODG has urged Africans living overseas not to neglect their culture but rather be proud of it .

According to the ‘Million Pound Girl’ hit maker , it is very pivotal for Africans to be proud of their roots and culture , else they might end up wanting to become someone else .

Speaking to UK National TV , Fuse ODG disclosed that when he got to the United Kingdom he realized the perception about Africa is so bad that he tried to disassociate himself from the African race.

He proceeded by saying that , as he grew older he realized he was born an African and should embrace his roots instead of trying to shy away from who he is .

Fuse ODG took to his instagram page to share some portion of his interview with channel 14 in order to advise Africans not to run from their culture but rather embrace it .

” It’s funny, how much I have grown out of the perception the Africa is inferior. When I got to the UK, I realized that the perception of Africa was very negative. It was so intense that as I was growing up, I did everything that would make fit into the British lifestyle.

But as I grew older, I got to understand who I’m supposed to be. So I’m on a mission to change that perception. I want young black people to be proud of who they are.

“Now things are changing, people are now embracing who they are and it’s a good thing,”he said .

Fuse ODG encourage Africans to fight for Africa because the motherland is their future .

He also hinted his  fans of his upcoming album  .

On his instagram page he wrote :

“Reasoning on UK national TV @channel4 with @sundaybrunchc4 . It’s so important for our young people to be proud about their roots and culture or else they’ll always grow up wanting to be someone else. We need more of us fighting for Africa coz the motherland is the future. Can’t wait for you all to hear my new album coz we diving right in!! Raaaa”
