Ghanaian highlife and Afro beats artist, Mr Drew has vehemently refuted claims that he refused to perform at the JamRock Event Center’s Easter Dance Party.

An event organsiser, JamRock Event Center in a write filed on April 15 accused Mr Drew of failing to perform at a concert after he had taken partial payment for his performance.

JamRock said the artiste agreed to be put up a show at the concert only to pull out at the eleventh hour despite receiving money.

In a press release to respond to the claims by the event centre, Mr Drew described the accusations as “falsehood”.

The artiste provided a chronology of explanations debunking the narrative by JamRock Event Center.

According to him, the event organizer did not heed to the earlier contractual agreement regarding the payment plan which required the organisers to pay the remaining 50% of his performance fee on the day of the event before his performance.

He said despite the organisers not paying the remaining 50%, they insisted Mr. Drew’s presence at the event which the artiste claimed deviated from the scheduled time.

Mr Drew’s press release indicated that the organisers did not meet most of the contractual obligation.

In response to these claims, Mr. Drew’s legal team has demanded a retraction from JamRock Event Centre regarding the defamatory statements made against him. They are prepared to take legal action if necessary to rectify the situation.

Meanwhile, Jamrok Bar and Event Center has filed a suit seeking damages to the tune of GHC200,000 from Ghanaian artist Mr Drew and DJ Filter.

The plaintiff claimed that the artiste and his DJ failed to perform at a scheduled event despite receiving partial payment.

The plaintiff in his suit claim that the artiste and the DJ did not show up at an event on Easter Monday after earlier arrangement and part payment of GHC15,000.
