The Ghana Society of the Physically Disabled (GSPD) has given Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale an ultimatum of seven days to retract and apologise for his mockery against Stonebwoy.

You recall that Shatta Wale mocked his colleague artiste, Stonebwoy with his disability after Stonebwoy boycott the Abeka Salahfest because Shatta Wale was billed on the list of performers.

In a viral video, Wale said “Stonebwoy, a disabled man you want to fight me a strong man, I will kick you.”

On the back of this development, GSPD noted that it expects the artiste to apologise to the physically disabled society for mocking them.

President of the society, Mathhew Annor in an interview on Onua FM explained that they will be forced to take legal action if Wale fails to apologise within seven days.

“We have given him 7 days. We spoke to one of his directors of his PR unit, Mr. Adu Gyamfi Kwame, he said he will speak to him to see the way forward.

“If he doesn’t respond in seven days, we will write a formal letter to his directors and producers and if he fails to heed to their advice then we will resort to the court,” Mr. Annor told host, Nana Yaa Brefo on April 16.

The Society in a statement on Monday, April 15 cautioned Shatta Wale and demanded that he should retract and apologise to all persons with disabilities and initiate steps to take down the video from social media.

The society also reminded him that making derogatory remarks about a person’s disability is a punishable offence by law with reference to the Disability Act 715.

Responding to the mockery by Shatta Wale, GSPD noted that such a “primitive statement should not have come from a high-profile personality like Shata Wale.”

The society described that act as “irresponsible” one and called on Ghanaians to condemn the musician’s behaviour.
