Naana Jane’s message was bold but simple – Prof Kobby Mensah

Political Marketing Analyst Professor Kobby Mensah has stated that NDC’s running mate Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang delivered a bold but simple message at her outdoor event on Wednesday, April 24.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) officially unveiled its 2024 running mate for the flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.

Addressing the party at the UPSA Auditorium, the former education minister distinguished her tenure as vice president should the NDC win the December 7 polls from Dr. Bawumia’s tenure.

Also, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang demonstrated her unflinching support for the flagbearer, John Mahama.

She emphasised, amongst other things, that at the time of reckoning, she will not in the advancement of self-serving ambition, “declare to the whole world I was only a driver’s mate.”

According to Prof. Kobby Mensah, the former first female Vice Chancellor for the University of Cape Coast (UCC) used academic writing to deliver a bold but simple message to the party and the country.

Prof. Naana Opoku-Agyemang also took a swipe at the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

“And so making those comments sharply brought into contention and, in our view, the characteristics of these two personalities, that is, Dr. Bawumia and Professor Jane,” he added.

According to the political communication analyst, Prof. Opoku-Agyemang made those distinctions for “people to appreciate how she’s going to perform in her role.”

Furthermore, Prof. Kobby Mensah underscored that the NDC’s running mate put up a “stellar performance” in her delivery.

“She made it clear that she was going to be a complement to the presidential candidate and when elected the president, she made it clear that she was not going to actually sit back; she was going to be a co-driver as opposed to a driver’s mate,” he told Keminni Amanor on News Central on Thursday.
