Aspiring MP donates to Kalampor CHPS compound

The Parliamentary Candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Salaga South Constituency of the Savannah Region, Adam Salifu Braimah, has donated medical equipment to the Kalampor Community-Based Health Planning Services (CHPS) Compound.

The items which included; two hospital delivery beds and a fridge is in fulfillment of a promise the candidate made to the chief and health workers during a previous visit to the community.

The Kalampor CHPS compound was completed in 2016 but left to rot.

In 2022, TV3 mission carried a story on the facility highlighting the struggles residents, especially pregnant women and children go through to access healthcare at Salaga while the facility rots away.

Less than a month after the mission story, the East Gonja Municipal Assembly commissioned the facility and health workers posted to man the facility.

However, the facility still lacked certain equipment for full operations.

Upon his visit to the area in 2023, the Chief and people of Kalampor appealed to the former MP and Parliamentary Candidate for delivery bed and a refrigerator to store vaccines.

“I am here to donate these beds and a refrigerator to support the delivery of healthcare services to the people living here.”

“The facility is operational now thanks to the assembly and as a parliamentary candidate, when the Chief informed me about the challenges our pregnant women go through to deliver, I immediately mobilized some resources to support.“

He touted his achievements in the health sector as a former MP.

“You all can attest to the fact that I have done the biggest investment in the health sector as a member of Parliament. I donated two brand new ambulances to the Salaga Hospital and Abrumase Health Centre, donated two incubators, delivery beds, medical consumables among others to the Salaga Government Hospital and other health facilities.“

“We need to prioritize health and I assure you of many more support in the coming days,” he said.

For his part, the East Gonja Municipal Director of Health Services, Zakaria Kassim, on behalf of the facility expressed gratitude to the former MP for always coming to their aid.

He assured the equipment will go a long way to improve quality of healthcare delivery in the area.
