Ladies who receive MOMO as T&T and fail to appear can face up to 5 years in prison, according to the police

It is defrauding by false pretense to take money from a man as transportation money and then fail to show up, according to Ghana criminal code act 29 section 132.

In light of the above, a police officer has advised women, especially young ladies, to abstain from the act, which can land them in jail for up to five years.

According to Chief Inspector Amoah, if a lady tells you to give her money for transportation to come over and you send her the money, and she decides not to visit and does not do the necessary by refunding your money, she may be dealt with accordingly under the Ghana criminal code.

The law enforcer said that a case can be filed against such persons with reference to the act 29 section 132 of the Ghana criminal code for defrauding by false pretense.

“Dear men, if a lady asks you to give her money for transportation to come over, and you send her the money, and she decides not to visit you and does not refund the money, you can file a case of defrauding by false pretense against her under ACT 29 SECTION 132 of the criminal code..

She faces up to 5 years in prison. Know your rights, my brother, and beware of some of the women,” the officer cautioned.
