I got into music because my crush always associated with musicians – Tiwa Savage
Nigerian vocalist, Tiwa Savage has revealed why she decided to venture into music even though it was not her passion.
The award-winning singer said she only pursued a career to be a musician because she was crushing on a man who always associated with musicians.
She shared this surprising revelation about her journey into music during a recent interview with MTV Live to promote her new movie project, “Water and Garri.”
Tiwa confessed that her initial passion was for acting, not music.
“I’ve always wanted to do acting. Acting was one of my first loves before music. I got into music because I had a crush on a guy, and he was always around musicians, so I said, ‘yeah, forget acting and just go into music,’” Tiwa revealed.
Tiwa recently released her new movie ‘Water and Gari’ which is streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
She noted that for acting being her first love, it was a “dream come true” for her to be the Executive Producer for the movie.
Despite the strange circumstances of how she entered into the music industry, Tiwa has managed to be one of Nigerians most prominent and successful artistes winning many awards to her name.
