The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the lack of representation in Parliament for three communities: Santrokofi, Akpafu, and Lolobi, known collectively as SALL.

The people of SALL learned on the evening of December 6 that they will not be voting for a parliamentary candidate in the 2020 elections on December 7.

Their exclusion from the election has piqued the interest of some civil society organizations and other prominent citizens in the country.

John Dumelo is the most recent person to weigh in on the situation. In a series of tweets, the actor lamented the plight of the SALL people. He requested a meeting with the President to discuss the situation when he (the President) returned from France.

According to John Dumelo, if nothing is done to address the situation, the three communities will suffer from a lack of development.

“Dear @NAkufoAddo, please the people of Santrokofi, Akpafu, Lolobi and Likpe are still without a district and a constituency. They are absent at the local governance level as well as parliament. Respectfully, can I please come see you when you come back from France? Merci,” he tweeted.

“Dear @NAkufoAddo, imagine four towns in Bantama, Kyebi, or Accra going four years without an MP or a DCE. That is what will happen in SALL if at least a district is not established for them. There will be a lack of development. They’ve become stranded. #SallisAnInhabitantOfGhana,” he added.
