Funny Face cleanses himself at the sea after release from police custody
Actor and Comedian, Funny Face is looking forward to leaving behind his recent predicaments and starting life afresh.
Funny Face whose real name is Benson Nana Oduro received bail to the tune of GH₵120,000 and two sureties on Tuesday, April 9.
He had been arrested on March 24 for knocking down five pedestrians with his Hyundai Atos car on the night of March 24.
He was subsequently charged with drunk driving offense and remanded for two weeks after which he was released from detention.
Shortly after his release, Funny Face took a decision to bath at the sea with the intention of new beginnings and forgetting his past predicaments.
Speaking in an interview with Kofi TV, Funny Face expressed remorse for his actions leading to the accident and knock down of some persons.
“I have caused problems for myself. All that I went through, I cannot blame anybody. I am the major cause of my problem. At times you do things and people get tired of your actions, that is the level I have gotten to but nobody will understand what you are going through.
“Not everyone can survive what I have been through, If I have been able to go through all these unfortunate events and God has kept me alive, I thank Ghanaians. In this life it is only God,” Funny Face said in the video.
He called for forgiveness from Ghanaians and indicated his intentions to work hard once again to bounce back.
“I feel like cleansing myself with the sea and speak to Jehovah one-on-one. I felt I should come and do this to give Glory to God. I have to do this to speak to God and ask him to give me back the favour he gave me…Ghanaians should forgive me and give me another chance,” he stated.
Funny Face’s woes
The comedian since his breakup with baby mama, Vanessa in 2021 has been involved in a myriad of public outburst and misconducts some of which landed him in prison and at the Accra Psychiatric hospital.
Contemplating suicide several times and being involved in a quarrel with some mentors and showbiz colleagues were some of his predicaments.
Funny Face has also been faced with challenges of contacting and accessing his children following his separation with Vannessa, a situation which some have linked as the cause of his distress and mental breakdown.
