‘I never said I will buy Ghana, I don’t have the money to do that’ – Nana Kwame Bediako clarifies

Founder and Leader of the New Force Movement, Nana Kwame Bediako also known as Cheddar has denied circulating reports claiming he has plans to buy Ghana if he’s not voted for.

On April 12 and April 13, two news portals, Ghanaweb and Pulse Ghana reported that Cheddar in an interview with TV3 indicated his intention to purchase the country if he fails to win power.

“If I create a million millionaires and take 10% from each person, I will definitely be richer than the country, so be careful. Ghanaians might not want me today, but when I return, I will be back to buy the country,” the two news portals quoted the Presidential Hopeful.

However, in a video on his Instagram page, Cheddar as he is popularly referred to dispelled the reports by the news portals.

He clarified that he only meant to raise a million millionaires who will contribute 10 percent of their wealth to him, the total contributions of these millionaires he said will be enough to possibly buy the country.

“If I’m able to raise a million millionaires who will give my leadership 10 percent of their wealth, that money can be more than the country’s wealth which will be possible to buy Ghana,” he explained.

According to him, the report is a “false” narrative only meant to “defame, slander and depreciate” him before his followers.

The business mogul said the narrative was “really twisted” and commended other media houses which did not report the said story.

“Please I do not have the money to buy the country. All I have is the courage, wisdom, blessing and the talent to help move the youth and women in the country. That is how I want to be remembered,” Cheddar added.

He further called on the media to rather propagate his vision and plans for Ghana as outlined during his regional tour of the country.
