Yvonne Nelson reveals IMANI Ghana aided in success of 2015 ‘Dumsor’ protest
Popular actress and producer, Yvonne Nelson has revealed that policy Think Tank, IMANI Ghana aided in the success of 2015 protest over the erratic power cuts.
In a tweet on Monday, April 22, Yvonne Nelson called on IMANI Ghana for a second time partnership to stage a protest over the recent power outages.
The actress was the lead organiser in a massive protest against the John Mahama government over ‘dumsor’ back in 2015. The protest brought together many Ghanaian celebrities.
Taking to X, Yvonne Nelson expressed her willingness to collaborate again with IMANI Ghana. According to her, IMANI Ghana played a major role to the success of the previous demonstration back in 2015, hence her wish for such another massive protest.
“Imani Ghana, can we organize another vigil? Ive been waiting for you to reach out like you did years back. ( your team made our demo a success ) I’m reaching out myself. The NPP and its leadership have taken Ghanaians for granted,” she tweeted.

Ghanaians have recently experienced consistent ‘dumsor’ across the country with many calling for a load-shedding timetable despite government’s denial that ‘dumsor’ is not back.
Other Energy experts have also lashed out at government for its poor management of the situation.
Special aide to former President John Dramani Mahama, Joyce Bawah Mogtari has also criticised government for “failing to take responsibility for the power crisis (Dumsor) in the country.”
Commenting on the energy challenges on her X platform, she said” These power outages must be condemned especially when those responsible refuse to accept responsibility for their own actions that have led to the consequences we are experiencing.
“Untold hardships, unemployment, corruption and stealing, land grabbing and now complete darkness and a total disregard for our basic needs!
“They rode on the back of propaganda to campaign. Where is the excess of power we didn’t need or require! Can we have it now! Won the election on lies, have governed with lies and propaganda and now trying hard to hoodwink us, the darkness has exposed them.
“This Akufo Addo/Bawumia administration will go down as the worst in the history of this country. Ghana deserves better!”
