Ghanaian veteran hiplife artiste, Obrafour has disclosed that the President of MUSIGA(Musicians Union of Ghana) must be a business-minded person and not a musician.
According to the ‘Pae mu ka’ hitmaker, he has no plans on becoming the President of MUSIGA but whoever gets elected as President should be outside the musicians union.
“I don’t have any plans of becoming the president of MUSIGA. I have never thought of that. This is what I have been saying: I think somebody outside the musicians [union] should be the president.” He told Nana Kwesi Asare in an interview on Class Fm
He opined that someone who is business-minded should be elected as the next MUSIGA president.
“Someone who has a business IQ, somebody who knows how to organise [should be the president]. I think we should look for such people, not musicians”. He disclosed.
According to him, the fact that someone has been successful in the music industry doesn’t mean that the person can steer the affairs of MUSIGA.
He indicated that it takes more than that to manage the Musicians Union and that someone outside the music industry with a business mind can spearhead MUSIGA.
“The fact that someone has been successful in music doesn’t mean that person should be the president; that is what I believe. Someone outside should be the president”, He emphasized
