As the anticipation builds for the upcoming by-election in Ejisu, Onua FM’s Yen Nsempa team ventured to the heart of the constituency to capture the fervour among constituents about the event.

Outdoor broadcasts were set up, capturing the essence of the democratic process unfolding in Ejisu. In the spotlight are the candidates vying for the vacant seat, each symbolizing a unique political perspective.

Esther Osei of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) secured the number one spot on the ballot, followed by Lawyer Kwabena Boateng representing the ruling NPP. Beatrice Boakye carries the banner for the Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG), while former NPP MP, Ing. Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, is contesting as an independent candidate.

Not to be overlooked are the independent contenders, Gabriel Agyemang Joseph and Attakorah Joseph, who have positioned themselves as alternatives in the political landscape, securing the 5th and 6th spots on the ballot, respectively.

The by-election in Ejisu was necessitated by the unfortunate passing of the area’s Member of Parliament, Dr. John A. Kumah, on March 7, 2024. With the seat vacant, Ejisu residents and stakeholders eagerly await the opportunity to cast their votes and shape the future of their constituency.

Amidst the electoral buzz, the decision by the largest opposition party, the NDC, to abstain from contesting has added a distinct dynamic to the by-election narrative, with their focus set on the upcoming December 7 general elections.

Stay tuned as Yen Nsempa continues to bring you comprehensive coverage of the Ejisu by-election, capturing the essence of democracy in action.
