Asamoah Gyan, the legendary Ghana striker, has lashed out at Kotoko fans who booed him at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.

Some Kotoko fans jeered and booed the 35-year-old when he stepped onto the field to play against the Porcupine Warriors in a game that Kotoko won 1-0.

Gyan responded to the incident with a three-minute video directed at Kotoko fans “in Accra,” according to him.

“I have this message for Kotoko fans in Accra. I am a Kotoko fan and I will always remain a Kotoko fan. When I came on I was booed by the fans which I understand but I want them to know that I will always be the one and only Asamoah Gyan. I want to tell them that when they travel outside of the country and get to the airport they should mention the names of their players,” he said in the video.

Asamoah Gyan lasted 15 minutes on the field after replacing Hans Kwofie on the 75th minute mark to make just his 5th appearance of the season for the Citizens.
