Armed robbers kill policeman escorting Bullion van, chase banker who raised alarm & shot him dead too

Armed robbers assassinated Constable Emmanuel Osei, a Police Officer with the Ghana Police Service’s Special Weapons and Tactics Unit assigned to the MonTran Bullion Van in Accra’s James Town.

According to police investigators, the officer was shot dead by three armed robbers on two motorcycles.

According to the investigators, one other occupant of the bullion van, Afua Badu, was also chased and shot dead by the armed robbers because she raised an alarm.

Another official, Grace Essel, was able to flee into the community and has been taken to the hospital for treatment.

When police arrived on the scene, the driver of the bullion van was nowhere to be found, but they later learned that he had gone to the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital for treatment.

According to the Police, the robbers made off with an AK 47 gun and an unspecified amount of money.
